In June 2026, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.)  were on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. advocating for solutions that expand housing supply, improve affordability and create more opportunities for Californians to become homeowners. Led by C.A.R. President Tamara Suminski, CEO Phil Hawkins and President-elect Mark Peterson, more than 200 California REALTORS® met with federal leaders, including Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, to discuss the housing challenges facing communities across the state. Their message was clear: homeownership creates opportunity, strengthens communities and helps families put down roots in the places they call home.
